This booklet, showing 24 everyday holes at life size, celebrates the ordinary and our ability to understand purpose and meaning in the smallest of details. How many of these holes do you recognise?
Holes in any shape, size or arrangement have a clear purpose in man-made objects, usually to enable a mechanical or air based function. In time, this lack of material becomes synonymous with the object itself; the eye of a needle or the holes in a button to sew it to a shirt. Ultimately, the design of what is not there can become enough to communicate the identity of the object that is.
This first edition of Everyday Holes is printed on recycled paper stock in 100 copies and is signed and numbered.
Unless specifically requested, books with the lowest available edition number will be sold first.
